The Ghost Lily series began with the original 2014 One Lily painting — the source piece for all that followed. Eleven years later, with more of my vision lost, my creative process has evolved. I’ve learned to trust the work itself and follow inspiration without hesitation.
In this piece, I began layering soft white gauzy paint across most of the surface. Then, unexpectedly, I was moved to dip my hands in green paint and press them directly onto the canvas. That moment brought layers of meaning: the physical act of touch, the emotional sense of “feeling” in both literal and metaphorical ways, and even a playful nod to the handprints we made as children.
More than art, this work is a conversation piece — a symbol of vision, resilience, and joy in creation.
